Kensington's first birthday party

Oh wow. I really suck at posting on this new blog. One of these days I swear that I am going to post more, but for now I am having way too much fun hanging out with my little family. Busy, busy summer. Fairs, carnivals, zoos, parties, beach, amusement parks, vacations, etc.I could technically call this post 'Kensington's first first birthday party' since this was the first of her two parties to celebrate her turning one. Since I haven't been posting...this party was forever ago. On the fourth of July actually that is why it is 4th of July/Ladybug themed. I liked the ladybug theme since Kensington is our "little lady". Also,I am a bit obsessed with miniature food. It is just so darn cute! All the food we served was tiny. Mini cupcakes made in condiment cups, mini milkshakes, mini pancakes, mini smores, mini ice cream cones etc. etc.I never even got a picture of the mini pizza and mini tacos we served.

The invitations I made for the party fit in the palm of your hand(the little envelopes were Martha Stewart brand)
I made Kensington a hat and two outfits for the party

First she wore a patriotic looking vintage shirt and striped pants
Then I switched her into a ruffled flag top and a layered tutu with polka dots.

It had pretty lace detailing on the back of her shirt(which I may or may not have added because I cut the back too short. ha ha)

The "chalk board" signs below were made by framing pieces of black construction paper(on top of the glass) and writing the foods on in white colored pencil.
I love drinking out of mason jars so for the mini strawberry smoothies we drank out of little(clean) baby food jars
The kiddos had a really fun time in the "photo booth" with lots of fun props. Balloons, ladybug masks that I painted,American flags, home made "sparklers"
We did lots of fireworks at our house and at the beach.Sparklers and poppers were a big hit with the kiddos. So fun!
Next post will be the party we had for her on her actual birthday.(two days later) Then I will post Lundyn's dinosaur party and Sutton's Strawberry shortcake party. Right now I am planning a party for my anniversary, and a school party for Lundyn. He is starting preschool next week ! So exciting!! My mom and I just might have gone a little crazy buying him cute clothes at the Gap and H&M yesterday. Kid is better dressed then I am! ;-)

xoxo!!
